Bury Engineering Experience
During the October half term holiday, Year 11 DT students Paula Ratcliffe, Jeanette Riley, Anna Berry, Patrick Moriarty, Robin Tuli, Matthew Lopez-Clift, Anthony Rettagliati and Toby Cooper took part in the Bury Engineering experience at Culford School. This is a three day residential trip for students who may have an interest in engineering as a possible career path.
Working with students from other local secondary schools they had to design and build either a pneumatic powered rocket or a traction buggy which would be able to travel over different terrains. To help the students realise their final idea they had the support of professional engineers from Vintens and Jaguar Land Rover.
Congratulations to all of our students and in particular to Anna's team who won the best design award and Jeanette and Toby's team who won the best product presentation award; and a special thank you to Mrs Kellett, Mrs Cooper and Mr Gregory who supported the students by attending the event at different times across the three days.
