Year 9 Options

Students begin the process of choosing the subjects they wish to study for their GCSE in the spring term of Year 9. The Year 9 Options Evening takes place in St Benedict's School Hall between 6.30 - 8.30pm on Thursday 6th February 2025.

The evening will include all the information parents, carers and students need on how to choose your option subjects for Key Stage 4, how to submit your options to the school and how students find out which subjects they have been allocated to begin in Year 10. The talks on the evening will also offer some helpful tips on how to prepare for moving in to Year 10 and information on what studying each subject is like at GCSE.

There will be an initial talk in the school hall from Mr Tatum, Deputy Headteacher, and Mrs Cornforth, Senior Progress Leader Year 9, followed by 3 rounds of subject presentations from Heads of Department and Subject Leads.

The schedule for the evening is outlined below.
