Online Learning and Resource Sharing
At St Benedict's staff teach lessons using the Microsoft 365 software. All students have their own Microsoft 365 accounts, which they can access from in school in one of our multiple IT suites, or at home using their own personal device. A Student Quick Start guide is below to help students sign in for the first time.
OneNote
OneNote is a Microsoft service that allows classes to see the work discussed in class, at home. Members of staff use OneNote in the lessons to capture the exciting ideas and topics they teach as part of the curriculum, in order for students to access the material at home and at any time. The teacher's notes, summaries of class discussions, handouts, videos and presentations are all included in the lesson notes, and students can make copies and annotate them in their very own part of each Class Notebook.
Each member of a class has access to its Class Notebook, and students have a separate Class Notebook for each class they belong to in school. The Content Library section allows students to see the notes the teacher provides them and the Student Workbook gives each student part of the Notebook they can work in that only they and the teacher have access to.
Students who are away from school are able to access their lessons in real time and can keep up with the curriculum. Students can also use their Class Notebook for revision in preparation for upcoming exams. Lessons are kept in the Class Notebook throughout the year, so students can revisit their lessons from previous half terms.
